GRAEF Group signs new contract with Actemium: Two fire alarm systems for energy substations in 2025

The GRAEF Group has once again been selected as a reliable safety and fire protection partner—this time by Actemium, a leading international company in the field of industrial electrical engineering, automation, and energy infrastructure. Actemium operates complex technical facilities worldwide and is one of the most important players in the modernization of critical infrastructure.

As part of a new project, the GRAEF Group will equip two substations with modern fire alarm systems in the coming year. These systems will receive a complete solution based on addressable KIDDE 2X Touch technology—a system that is particularly suitable for energy plants, high-risk areas, and industrial sites.

Fire protection for critical energy infrastructure: Why substations require the highest level of safety

Transformer stations are considered critical hubs for the power supply. Even minor disruptions—overheating, smoldering fires, or technical defects—can have far-reaching consequences.

That is why Actemium is focusing on the following aspects in this project:

  • maximum operational reliability,

  • early fire detection,

  • reduced downtime,

  • Fully addressable system architecture,

  • Remote maintenance and rapid event diagnosis.

Robust, precise, and reliable fire alarm systems are essential for energy facilities in order to protect both personnel and infrastructure. The KIDDE 2X Touch platform meets precisely these requirements and provides a standard-compliant, scalable solution for industrial energy facilities.

Project scope: Two new fire alarm systems with KIDDE 2X Touch in 2025

The GRAEF Group will implement two complete fire alarm systems in Actemium substations starting in 2025.
The project includes:

  • Installation of the KIDDE 2X Touch addressable fire alarm control panel

  • Implementation of the loop architecture

  • Installation of smoke and heat detectors

  • Cable routing and technical documentation

  • System programming and plausibility check

  • Commissioning & training of operating personnel

The combination of the technical requirements of a substation and the flexibility of the KIDDE system enables an efficient and long-term fail-safe solution.
